Biography
I have interests in music and the arts, photography, architecture, geology, and cycling. Musically, I have been in various bands gigging, and recording, this led into music production, DJing, event organisation & promotion with various arts organisations (SHP, Glastonbury, Armageddon), and I have produced and released music (Binary soup, Positiva, Nanny Tango, Daily Star).
In ‘98’ I had a motorcycle accident nearly losing my left leg and breaking my arm severely enough to prevent me continuing my former career and playing guitar. The recuperation and remedial surgery took several years, so I followed my passion for music and embarked on a music production course. Whilst studying I was working creatively, doing festivals with audio & video performances, and began sound engineering in local venues (Madejski, Jazz Club, Purple Turtle, etc.), and then touring with function band ‘Get Ready’.
My former career was in design & build, and the acquired skills coupled with an interest in acoustics led me to build several recording studios. I then took on an events management role with Plug and Play (Reading) for which I gained the appropriate C&G qualifications and an SIA license, whilst studying toward a music production degree, after which I began teaching at Reading College.
I still get involved in most of the creative processes outlined above, working more recently with the Sound Symposium, The big day out, The 3 Antennas, Beautiful Creatures, The Green Man, & Cirque Subite. I would like to develop my sound art installation projects, when time allows. Currently, I am a grade 2 teacher with specialist skills in delivering BTEC music courses to young people with specific learning requirements and young offenders.
